Truman turned 4 months old. He went in for his four month appointment and he had fallen off his growth curve he was at the 75th percentile instead of the 98th and so the doctor made me worry about his weight. I think he looks like a healthy chubby baby boy still.
Later in the month he had an ear infection and on his follow up for that, we were told that he is doing fine gaining weight. He is really interested in solid foods and tries to grab food from my plate when I'm eating.
Sterling has become fascinated with what he calls the Old West. In his mind the Old West is a ghost town that is about 6 miles from our house called Goldfield. Since there is a lot of stuff to do for free there and the kids like to just wander and explore, we have been going to Goldfield a lot during the day.
While Aaron was gone, the kids and I took the mine tour at Goldfield. It started as one would expect a mine tour with one adult and three children to start. We got down the steps into the mine without a lot of trouble. Then we all got on an elevator that looked like it was a 100 years old. I'm pretty sure it wasn't though because it had a capacity rating on the side of the elevator.
Once we were down in the mine things deteriorated significantly. Avalon started crying "I don't want to be underground." Then the tour guide turned all of the lights out in the mine and it got really dark. Then he started talking about ghosts. Great, huh? Luckily, there were some really nice guys in front of us in the tour and the next time the lights went out they all opened their cell phones so that the kids had some light. We made it through the tour alive and Avalon insists that she had fun. Though, the next time we pulled up to Goldfield she started to cry that she didn't want to go underground.
After the mine tour we went to dinner at a mining restaurant. It was all you can eat served family style on tin plates. The kids really enjoyed it and Sterling tried everything because it was what cowboys eat.
The next trip to Goldfield we panned for gold. It was pretty fun. The lady who does the gold panning buys dirt that is really rich from a prospector. The kids found gold, fools gold and garnets in the dirt. They each got a little tube to bring some home in. They had fun.
Sterling finished soccer on the 20th of this month. He got a trophy and was very excited.
Avalon tried on her Christmas dress and I couldn't get it off of her. She wore it to run through the sprinklers in the back yard and got into a lot of trouble.
We spent a lot of this month working on projects for Christmas, doing some Christmas shopping and getting ready for Thanksgiving. I made puppets for the oldest six of the grand kids on my side. I made a sock puppet for my youngest nephew, but I didn't take a picture of it.
Aaron's family came to our house for Thanksgiving. It was a lot of fun. We had Aaron's parents, his sister and her husband and three boys and Aaron's great aunt Ardie (Sterling's third Grandma) all came.
We went geocaching one afternoon. The sunset was amazing.
Avalon got a plastic cow out of the geocache.
Aaron crawling under a fence.
My family came down and had Thanksgiving at my sister Halee's house. My brother Jeff came into town. It was great to see him. We haven't seen him in a couple of years. The kids had a blast playing together. We also had fun going to Black Friday at Walmart together in the middle of the night.
My brother Jeff is a pied piper.
Playing Ghosts in the Graveyard.
Madelynn - apparently she got the scratch on her chin on Uncle Jeff's watch.
I liked this picture of Avalon because she spent the whole night pulling that skirt up.
Well that was our November!
