The last couple of weeks have been really busy at our house. We have been cleaning the house for Truman's baby blessing and the kids have been starting a lot of different activities.
First off, August 29th was Truman's first Sunday at church. Here he is in his cute church clothes.
On Monday the 30th, we went to a meet the teacher day for Sterling's Pre-K class. His teacher seemed really nice and he was excited and a little nervous to start school.
Tuesday the 31st, we had a very busy day. Avalon started a cheerleading class. She was a little shy and spent most of the time on my lap. Though, when we got home she practiced her high V and low V a lot. She also loves her pom poms.
After cheerleading class, Sterling started Pre-K. I think he likes it. They have been learning the days of the week and working on numbers and letters. He just goes three days a week for a couple of hours. Later that evening, Sterling started soccer. It was a crazy busy day, but I think the kids enjoy the activities they are in.
On Wednesday September 1st, Aaron's parents came into town for Truman's blessing. I had spent the previous week and a half doing a deep cleaning of the house. I dusted everything from the fans and vents on down. I also cleaned all of the carpets in the house. On Tuesday I had decided to redo our patio set and I finished that on Wednesday evening.
I'm excited about the way it turned out. It looked really bad before. It had been an inside set that we moved outside. The seats had collapsed through the metal frames and the metal had started rusting.
Also on Wednesday, Avalon and I went to get pedicures. She loves to get pedicures. She has been telling me for several weeks that she needed to get her toes painted. At the salon, she sits on my lap and soaks her feet and then has her nails painted. The guys at the nail salon love Avalon. They gave her a sucker and a little bottle of water. The guy even painted flowers on her toe nails for free.
We did all of this and cleaned the whole house, before Aaron's parents arrived late that night.
The next day, the kids played with their grandparents all day.
Friday night, my family came into town. It was a great weekend, we had my parents and my brother Klint along with Aaron's parents staying at our house. My sister and her family came over and spent most of Saturday and Sunday with us.
On Saturday, the men went shooting. Then we had In and Out for lunch because it is my dad's favorite. Then the women went to Hobby Lobby. We had Thai and Panda Express for dinner and played games and watched movies once the kids were in bed.
Sunday was Truman's blessing. We managed to get five adults and three children ready and to church by 9 in the morning.
Truman's blessing was a really special blessing. I think it is wonderful that my children have so many people that love them and are willing to come such long distances to bless them. Klint says that he peaked at the baby and when Truman's name was said the baby grinned great big. Truman was blessed on his two month birthday.
After church we had a big dinner and then the kids played, the adults visited and we had a great time together. The kids had a lot of fun playing and wrestling with Uncle Klint. By the time they were done they were very tired. Luke fell asleep in the shopping cart.

The weekend reminded me of time spent at Grandma Batt's house. It was wonderful. Monday morning my family left.
We spent Monday hanging out with Aaron's family. The kids went out driving their cars.
In the afternoon we took Truman swimming for the first time. He loved it. He was very buoyant. You had to pull his bum under the water to get him sitting up. Finally, he fell asleep while I held him in the pool.

It looks like everyone had a great time. You even took photos of everything AND got them posted. Way to have the energy for all that.
