February

Well, I am up to February.  February 2nd was Sterling's birthday.  He turned 6. He was very excited for it.  He wanted a party like he always had in Arizona, but it wasn't warm enough and we didn't know anyone out in our new area.  So, instead of a party with kids his age, we made it a fun day with my family.

He got to take cupcakes to school which he loved.  Then after school, the kids, my mom and I went to the Idaho Falls museum.  The museum had a display on dinosaurs.  In particular the museum had a display on Sue, which is the most complete T-Rex skeleton that has been found.  Sterling loves museums and he had a great time.

They let the kids touch a real dinosaur bone.

Truman was fascinated by the spinning T-Rex head.

There was a kids play area that had a tepee, a little cabin and other Idaho heritage type stuff.  Truman and Avalon spent a lot of time in this area.  They aren't as into museums as Sterling.

There is also a section of the museum that has a recreation of an old town.  Sterling loved it.

Sterling picked out a tractor to go on his birthday cake.  We got chocolate rocks from the grocery store and turned his cake into a little farm.
Sterling got a new bike and bike helmet for his birthday.

In the evening we had dinner with my parents and Klint and Talia.

Sterling is a great kid.  He is really into science stuff.  For his birthday he got an ant farm, a butterfly raising kit, a kit to make a volcano, a treasure box and shovel and the bike and helmet.  The kid just isn't into normal stuff.

Avalon got a new dress and we took pictures.

On February 14th, we got to see the first pictures of the new baby.  The doctor told us that it was a boy, but apparently the doctor likes to guess way before he can actually tell.  According to the other people in his office, it is just a guess, so I guess we will see what happens in later ultrasounds.

And that was February as far as I can remember it.  We also started construction on our basement.  The house we bought has an unfinished basement and we need the extra space to actually be able to fit in the house well.  When it is all finished the house will be 3,600 square feet and will have a 5 bedrooms, 4 baths and a large family room.  It has wood floors in the kitchen and a ton of cabinet space.  Oh and a fire place.  We are really enjoying it and look forward to having everything finished.

Aaron also wanted me to point out that he bought an 82 inch TV in February, just in time for the Superbowl.  So, we had a Superbowl part with my family which was fun.
