March Madness

 

Avalon turned 5 on March 3, 2013.  On the Saturday before her birthday, we took the kids to (and met the cousins at) Home Depot for their kids club.  They made race cars that they have loved playing with.

 

 

After Home Depot, we took the kids to Flips which is a gymnastics gym.  The kids loved it. They went again for their cousin Madelynn's birthday at the end of the month.  There were trampolines and a pit full of foam blocks.  They ran and jumped for two hours straight.  Towards the end of the two hours, the kids started to move a lot slower.  They were really tired when we were done.

 On her birthday, Avalon opened presents.

 She wanted her cake to have ballerinas, so we found these cute little Barbie ballerinas. 

 Then that evening, we had my family over for cake and ice cream and a party.  Avalon had warned everyone to wear their dancing shoes.

 

Avalon got a karaoke machine for her birthday. Here is Aaron and Truman singing karaoke.



Avalon has been playing princess a lot lately.

 We had a fun family home evening decorating Easter eggs this year.  Aaron had found an Easter egg kit that had stickers, hair, dye, glitter glue and pipe cleaners.  The kids (and Aaron) had a lot of fun with it.

 

 

The week before Easter, I took the kids to the gardens at BYUI for some Easter pictures.  I really like the way they turned out.

 

 

The Saturday before Easter, we took the kids to the Rexburg Easter egg hunt.  They basically scatter thousands of eggs in a given area and then blow a siren to signal the start.  The kids just clean the field like locusts and the eggs are gone in under a minute.  Every kid gets eggs, though and it is fun.

 Easter was a fun day at our house.  The kids woke up and found their baskets with their gifts.  Sterling got a new kickstand for his bike.  Avalon got sand buckets and Truman got a kids size hoe and shovel.  Then after church we had our own Easter egg hunt.  Aaron hid about 150 foil wrapped eggs.  The kids are still finding them in the yard.

 In the evening, we went to my parents' house and had an egg hunt there.  Then we had a nice dinner with the family.

We also got Sterlings school pictures this month.

And that was our March.  We are all very happy and enjoying every day.
