Avalon's Baby Blessing Weekend

Well, this weekend was Avalon's baby blessing. Actually, it was Avalon's and Paul's baby blessings. Halee (my sister) and I manage to have our children close enough together that we were able to bless our oldest two on the same weekend and our second two. This is convenient because of the overlap in grandparents and the fact that Aaron's parents and Halee's husband, Mark's, parents are good friends from the same home town and home ward. So, when we have the blessings on the same day, we just make it a big party all weekend.

This weekend started with us all visiting the swap meet on Saturday morning. We've really enjoyed living right up the street from the swap meet. Aaron's mom goes there at least once everytime she is in town. It is actually a cool place to shop with a lot of unique stuff that isn't too expensive. I found a tire clock for Sterling's room. Someday soon I will post pictures of what we have done with the house. One of our rooms is Thai, one is pink and Sterling's is truly Sterling. Our room is going to be Egyptian, but we are having some color choice problems and our Kitchen is red. Yes, we really like color.
Oh, though, Aaron and his dad went to the Diamondbacks game, so they missed a lot of it.
Anyway, after we went to the swap meet, the kids played in the pool in the backyard. Aaron bought a really cool inflatable pool and Madelynn and Sterling had a ball. They played in the pool on both Saturday and Sunday. They were in the pool for probably 4 or 5 hours between the two days.

After the pool party we went to the temple visitor center to see the photo display reflections of Christ. It was really neat. The strange thing is, I'm pretty sure the guy that posed as Joseph is a guy who used to come to Aaron and Rick's foosball tournament all of the time. Oh, for those of you who know Rick and haven't heard the news, he is engaged. You can email me for more info.

Then, yes there is more, it was a busy Saturday, we went to the Chihuahua Races. Arizona is an interesting place, I am pretty sure it is the only state that has Cinco De Mayo Chihuahua Races. It is very entertaining, we go every year. Most of the times, some or all of the dogs either refuse to race, run backwards or mark the track. Below is a clip from the 2007 races from youtube.

Sunday was the baby blessings. Paul was blessed in the morning at their ward. It was kind of a rough day at church. Sterling and his cousin Madelynn kept climbing over the benches and having to go out. When they were in the hall, they would run laps around the church. Then, Avalon pooped and it leaked on her dress. To say the least, we brought Sterling home early so he could have a nap. Below are pictures from the blessing.

Way fun baby blessings. I'm glad you got those cute pictures of your mom and dad with the baby and that your mom didn't put her hand up in front of her face. We have been going through some pictures and in about half of them Nancy has her hand in front of her face. When she sees how cute she looks, maybe she will give that little habit up.

I doubt it. We keep telling her we need pictures of her without her hand in front of her face so we have something to use in her obituary.

Yay for Rick! I want details (email me).

Love the pics. She is getting cuter and cuter.
