June

June was a crazy month.  Sterling got out of school on June 1st.  It is nice to not have to drive to Idaho Falls twice a day. 

The first weekend of June we took the kids to the Airplane Museum in Rexburg.  Sterling had been begging to go for a while.  It was a pretty small museum, but he still enjoyed it.

After the museum, we went to Porter Park so Aaron could play tennis with Klint.  Before they started playing we took the kids to the carousel at the park.

The kids also played on the playground.

 I took the kids to the splash park while Aaron and Klint played tennis.  The only problem is that the splash park was broken and so there wasn't any water (except a puddle at the bottom of one of the slides).

June 7th was Daisy's birthday.  She turned 1.  The kids were very excited.  They insisted on buying her gifts and a treat.  They also insisted on wrapping the gifts. We also got a chocolate cake for us, people.

June 15th was Jefferson County Stampede days.  We went over to the parade and the street fair.  The kids really enjoyed it.

Yes, that is the Mayor of Rigby sitting on a toilet.  Aaron said there were more toilets in this parade than he had ever seen in a parade.

Then we all got the stomach flu for Father's Day.  It was a pretty bad Father's Day.

The last weekend of June, my brother Jeff and his family, and my sister Halee and her family came into town.  The first Saturday, we took the kids to the splash park.

Then they rode the carousel.

They also had a lot of fun playing at Grandma and Grandpa Anderson's house.

We had bonfires and Grandpa gave everyone rides on his motorcycle.

While everyone was still in town, we took the kids to the Idaho Falls zoo for family home evening.  I have to say, I really like the Idaho Falls zoo.  It is small and cheap and has penguins.

 So, I thought this next picture was funny.  Right before we got to the Tiger enclosure, a duck had landed in the pen and the tiger had attacked it.  That had to be the last thing the duck expected.  I mean really what are the odds of getting eaten by a tiger in Idaho.  The picture isn't terribly clear but that is the duck right in front of the tiger.

 We took the kids to the sand dunes one day.  The sand dunes are basically just big sand hills that you can slide down, roll down and just get covered in sand.  We didn't stay very long because the wind was blowing and our teeth and eyes were getting full of sand.

One night we took the kids to the drive in movie.  We took them to the movie Brave.  It was cold and the movie scared my kids (I think because it was dark).

My mom also found someone to let the kids ride horses.

We also visited Yellowstone Park.  The first pictures are at the paint pots.

We saw a lot of Bison.

We had a picnic lunch in the woods.

We also bought ice cream at the Old Faithful.

 Here we are at the Old Faithful geyser.  Truman is shirtless because he got ice cream all over.  I had to rinse out his shirt and wait for it to dry.

It was a wild week with everyone in town, but we had a blast and miss everyone now that they are gone.
