Sterling has been looking forward to his birthday party for at least a month. He picked out a bunch of stuff at the dollar store to put in gift bags for his friends. He also picked out plates, cups, napkins and invitations. He had so much fun.
The party was a little chaotic. I planned games for the party, but every time I started a game the kids would kind of wonder off. A friend from the ward lent us a bubble machine and the kids loved it.

They played golf and ran around the backyard. They had pizza, chips, pop, candy, cake and we sent them home wired.
Here are some pictures. My favorite are the pictures of the kids with the pinata. They started out with a dowel, but it wasn't doing much damage to the pinata. Then they switched to bigger weapons. First, Sterling grabbed a plastic baseball bat and Caleb, his friend, grabbed a hockey stick. Those didn't seem to be doing much to the pinata, so the kids pulled out the golf clubs. They were getting very anxious for the candy and it just wasn't happening fast enough.
Avalon was helping her dad hold up the pinata.
Then the kids put party hats on and had cake. Sterling really wanted party hats and we couldn't find any. Finally I found them at the dollar store. Sterling was so excited. Actually, all of the kids were excited. It was cute.
When it was time for presents, things got really funny. Sterling just started tearing into them. So did Caleb, Sterling's friend from the ward. Then Hannah, a friend from our old ward, asked where her present was. Two/three year olds are so funny and so honest.
